Our story began in 1954 when George Kovacs opened a small lighting store in Manhattan. We imported and sold modern and avant-garde lighting fixtures, revolutionizing the design and illumination landscape. Our founder’s forward-thinking, trend-setting approach frequently propelled the appreciation of modern interior design across the United States. This allowed our George Kovacs® brand to achieve tremendous success well into the early 2000s.
Though our founder George Kovacs sadly passed away in 2007, his legacy as a lighting pioneer continues through our commitment to embody the design aesthetic he inspired.
